James C. Turner, 42, passed away unexpectedly at 6:57 pm Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
He was born on December 1, 1968 in Alton, IL, the son of James C. and Bobbie J. (Garrett) Turner.
He married Sarah Pratt on November 30, 2007 in Edwardsville. She survives.
James worked as a buser and cook at International House of Pancakes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Bobbie Turner of Collinsville; a son, Joseph C. Turner at home; his grandmother, Mary Turner of Meadowbrook; two brothers, Michael Neal Turner of Meadowbrook and Kenneth Wayne Turner of Collinsville; and two nieces and nephews, Brianna Hoffman, Jaycee Turner and Janelle Turner.
He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Turner.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, 11, 2011 at Johnson Road Baptist Church in Granite City with Rev. Ed Smith officiating.
Memorials may be made to Joseph C. Turner for his college trust fund.
