Christopher Jay Kuebrich, 44, died at 9:27 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2011, along with his granddaughter Myah, at the scene of an automobile accident south of Jerseyville on Route 67.
He was born in Alton on Jan. 14, 1966, one of four boys born to John & Roberta (Carter) Kuebrich.
Chris grew up in Jerseyville, and graduated in 1984 from Jersey Community High School. He later attended Ranken Technical Institute,and was employed as a machinist with Owens-Illinois.
He married Dorothy "Dottie" Legate on Dec. 25, 1993 at the home of her sister & brother in law in Jerseyville, and she survives.
Also surviving are his mother & stepfather, Bobbie & Red Sievers of Alton; his father & stepmother, John & Rita Kuebrich of Paducah, Ky.; three stepchildren, Zac Eberlin, Kaci Eberlin and Joey Eberlin all of Jerseyville; three brothers & sisters in law, Mike & Ann Kuebrich of Alton, Tim Kuebrich of Godfrey, and Mark & Kim Kuebrich of Jerseyville; a grandson, Hayden Bentley Eberlin Brown; his mother in law, Mary Legate of Greenfield; and two sisters in law & brothers in law, Tammy & Joe Schaaf of Greenfield, and Sherry & Chuck Brainerd of Burnsville, Mn.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, with Father William Hembrow and Rev. Rob Ellard officiating.
Burial will be in the Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton.
Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
