Julia Borman

Julia Christina "Judy" Borman, 85, died at 11:45 a.m, Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Robings Manor Nursing Home in Brighton.


She was born in rural Medora on Aug. 23, 1925, one of eight children born to the late Charles Wesley & Rose Enos (Frank) Moore.

For many years she resided in Chicago where waitressed in numerous restaraunts, before relocating to the area in 1984, where began working as a cook at the Wedge Cafe in Alton, retiring in 1994.

Surviving are a sister & brother in law, Jessie & Julius Depper of Piasa; a brother, Charles Moore of Brighton; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, William Borman who died Sept. 30, 1980; two brothers, Lloyd "Bud" Moore, and Ernest Moore; and three sisters, Beulah Huff, Mitilda Jane Szweda, and Iola Stoeckel.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wedneday. Rev. Lee Jackson will officiate.

Burial will be in the Kemper Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Activity Department at Robings Manor Nursing Home or to St. Anthony's Hospice.
