Kevin James Lintz passed away peacefully on December 21, 2010.
Kevin was born on July 26, 2010 in Alton, Illinois. His mother, Jennifer Maguire, and father, Shawn Lintz, were the proud parents of this beautiful baby boy. They cherished every second they had with him and made every moment count. Kevin showed his mom and dad how to truly love-the most priceless gift. He was their pride and joy, and will remain with them forever.
Kevin was blessed with the most beautiful blue eyes that pierced anyone’s soul. Throughout everything, his eyes told his story reassuring his mommy and daddy that everything would be all right, and managed to smile the whole way through. He changed the lives of everyone he came into contact with. He had a special way of captivating every heart, with the art of teaching an appreciation for life and the strength in everlasting love. He taught that with love all things are possible. He enjoyed singing his favorite song, the Itsy Bitsy Spider, laughing, playing with Leo the Lion and Jerry the Giraffe, dancing and traveling with mommy and daddy. This world is missing out on an amazing little man. All will miss him.
Also surviving him are his great-grandparents: Walter and Wilma Lintz, grandparents: Kevin and Sharon Lintz and Jerry and Teresa Maguire, aunts: Molly Maguire, Diane Pruitt, and Kimberly Torres, uncles: Carleson Pruitt, and Juan Torres, cousins: Allison Pruitt and Brandon Yon, and very special friends: Margie and Bill Winkler, and Kevin Puntney, and many other family members and friends who loved and cared for him.
We must also thank all of the great people at Cardinal Glennon in St. Louis, MO and Kevin’s pediatrician, Dr. Vallala.
Special thanks must also be given to Ali Tarrant, Matt Bennett, and Brent Smith who have been instrumental in organizing a benefit/fundraiser that will be held at the Sportsman’s Club on January 7, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010, from 4 pm until 8 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
A funeral Mass will then be held Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton at 10 am, with Fr. Nnamdi Moneme officiating.
