William G. “Bill” Hall, 83, husband of the former Jo Ann Jungers, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Born February 27, 1927 in New Haven, CT, he was the son of Wesley and Mildred (Fay) Hall. Mr. Hall served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a Masters of Engineering from Yale University. He worked for 30 years for Westinghouse Research Labs in Pittsburgh, PA where he was awarded 13 patents. He was the vice president of a local school board in the Pittsburgh area. Also while in Pennsylvania he was a Boy Scout Leader, District Commissioner and received the Boy Scout District Award of Merit. He later moved to St. Louis, MO and retired in 1992 as an electrical engineer from Emerson Electric. He was a member of the Godfrey First United Methodist Church.
On April 28, 1990 he married Jo Ann (Cunningham) Jungers in Alton. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, John Wesley Hall and his wife Holly of Sagamore Hills, Ohio, a daughter, Christine Roskin and her husband Mark of Schaumburg, IL, three step-sons, Joel Jungers and his wife Lea of Denver, CO, Jeffrey Jungers and his wife Elizabeth of Terre Haute, IN and Lindsay Jungers of Marlton, NJ, twelve grandchildren, Emily Jungers Gropp, Liz Jungers Hughes, Paul, Ted and Peter Jungers, Leah Jungers Rounds, Ian Jungers, Mary Beth Jungers, Jacki Hall Bournes, Dylan, Jason and Aaron Roskin, and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally Hall, a brother, Burton Hall and a sister, Harriet Harvey.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Godfrey First United Methodist Church. Reverend Don E. Long Jr. will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Godfrey First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
