Roswitha E. “Rose” Curtis, 74, died at 5:23 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born April 8, 1936 in Germany, she was the daughter of Egbert and Hildegard Milkoweit. She retired in 1999 after more than ten years of service as a sales clerk for K-Mart.
On September 4, 1975 in Alton, she married Robert G. Curtis. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Valery Parker and her husband Mark of Alton and Darlene Whitlock and her husband Terry of Cottage Hills, one step-daughter, Nancy Quirin of Waterman, IL, two sons, Adrian Haas-Kaid and his wife Pamela of Wheatland, MO and Robert Kaid of Salem, Utah, one step-son, Rob Curtis and his wife Catherine of Alton, twelve grandchildren, Bobbi Jo, Chad, Anthony, Cody, Amber, Shannon, Stacy, Shawn, Erica, Erin, Tony and Megan, seven great grandchildren, Landon, Riley, Maegen, Aiden, Avery, Xavier and Isaac, and one brother, Reinhart Milkoweit of Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dieter Milkoweit.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday.
Reverend John Blackmore will officiate.
Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
