Shirley Dabbs, age 77, passed away at 3:48 pm, Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at her residence in Alton.
She was born in Alton, Il to the late Elwood J. and Edra M. (Zyph) Funk.
Shirley was a 1950 graduate of Alton High School. Following graduation she was employed by the W. Owen Shy Insurance Agency in Alton. Subsequently she worked for Millers Mutual in Alton. She was an avid reader, and loved crossword puzzles, was a member of MENSA, and loved her dog, Monster .
She is survived by Keith and Jan Funk of Saginaw, TX, Ken Funk of Alton, Lois Funk of Alton, and Kerry and Anna Funk of Aurora, CO, and several nieces and nephews..
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be on Saturday September 11, 2010 from 10 am till time of service at 11am, at Elias Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park, Godfrey, IL.
