Frances Reed

Frances "Chic" Reed, 93, died at 5:35 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at St. Anthony's Hospital. She was born November 12, 1916 in Fieldon, IL to James A. and Laura R. (Westfall) Anderson. On October 6, 1939 in Alton she married Joseph A.

Reed and he preceded her in death on November 28, 1990. She was a member of the VFW Post 1308 Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are one son; James A. Reed of Alton and a cousin; Shirley Eschbach of Jerseyville and other distant family members.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Steve Rice to officiate at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
