Robert Goode

Robert Dean Goode, 78, died Monday, December 28, 2009 at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born March 23, 1931 the son of the late Emery and Zelma Goode. Also preceding him in death were a sister, Dorothy Ames; a son, Michael Goode; a daughter, Kathi Hawkins; and a grandson, Jared Hawkins.

He was in the banking industry for many years until he retired to his beloved Florida. He lived there for many hears but moved back to the area to be with family. He loved the warm weather and loved to travel. His most recent trip was a cruise to Mexico with treasured friends. He was loved by all who met him.

He is survived by his two daughters, Vicki Garvey of Edwardsville and Julie McGinnis of Rogue River, Ore.; 9 grandchildren, Kyle and Chase Garvey, Karly Floyd, Jessica Hoorman, Daniel Hawkins, Erica Roman, and Melissa, David, Jeffery McGinnis; and 7 great grandchildren, Christian, Payton, Jayln, Kensley, Isaiah, Aren and Ezra.

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 31 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights from 9 a.m. until time of a memorial service at 10 a.m. Rev. Daryl Fansler will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Robert Goode family in care of Vicki Garvey.
