Thomas Parker

Thomas W. Parker, 72, died at 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2009 at his home in Alton. Born April 10, 1937 in Alton, he was the son of Charles E. and Carrie (Comstock) Parker.

He was a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker. He loved to hunt and fish and be outdoors. On April 26, 1958 in Alton, he married the former Barbara A. Wille. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters; Susan M. Parker of Hardin, and Deborah R. Quigley and her husband Tim of Alton, a son, Jeffrey M. Parker of southern, Illinois, four grandchildren; David, Stephanie, Ryan, and Melissa, two great-grandchildren; Jorden and Paul, a brother, Richard Parker, and three sisters; Pansy Hamilton, Patty J. Boyd, and Barbara Paul.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Valerie A. Spurrier, a son, Samuel W. Parker, and two brothers; Harry and Charles Parker. There will be no services.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
