Herbert Cantrell

Herbert D. Cantrell, 64, died at 1:53 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton. Born November 3, 1944 in Murphysboro, IL, he was the son of the late Herbert Leo and Edith Ilene (Morefield) Cantrell. He was an assistant supervisor in the Gas Free Plant for National Marine Service in Hartford, IL for 25 years. He then worked for Hoods in West Alton, MO. He married Judith (Rhymer) on December 21, 1963 in Jonesboro, IL. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Wendy Bick Teles and her husband Cisco of Alton, two grandchildren, Bethany and Justin Bick of Alton, two brothers; Larry Cantrell and Howard Cantrell both of Murphysboro, IL, and three sisters; Betty Childers of Marion, IL, Gloria Jones of Murphysboro, IL, and Ethel Gibson of Elkville, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Randy Fischer will officiate. Burial will be at Miles Station Cemetery in Brighton.
