Helen Doyle

Helen J. Doyle, 96, passed away at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 at VIP Manor in Wood River.
Born July 23, 1913, she was the daughter of Walter and Nelle (Goodwin) Donelson.
She married John C. Doyle Jan. 27, 1949 in Alton. He passed away in 1992.
A cook at Alton Mental Health Center, she retired in 1986 after 28 years.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James P. and Diana L. Doyle of Wood River and David and Alice Chamness of Grafton; six grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Robin Doyle, James and Nadia Doyle, Chris and Amy Johnson, Barbara Kay Gentry, Jennifer Sandoval, and Beth Ann Steele; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Billy Joe Chamness ; four sisters, Mildred Ursprung, Vivian Neudecker, Virginia Turley, and Delores "Dude" Murphy; and a brother, Byrl Donelson.
Visitation will be Wednesday at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Larry Lacher will officiate.
Interment will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
