Curtis Meyenburg

Curtis W. Meyenburg, 68, died Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Eldercare Nursing Home in Alton. Born April 3, 1941 in Alton, he was the son of Herbert H. and Lois L. (Ripley) Meyenburg. He was a Petty Officer First Class in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Unitarian Church in Alton, the Alton VFW Post 1308 and the American Legion. He worked for local auto body shops and then taught vocational auto body for two years in Hecker, Illinois. Surviving is his brother, Herbert Meyenburg of Godfrey. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be no services. Burial will be private. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
