Marilyn J. Aulabaugh, 81, passed away at 11:25 pm Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Alhambra Care Center while under the care of Heartland Hospice.
Born Marilyn J. Roberts August 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Margaret (Schelle) Roberts.
She married Gale D. Aulabaugh on September 6th 1947 at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Alton. He preceded her in death on September 15th 1997.
She and her husband co-owned Coachman Oil Company and Gale D. Aulabaugh Inc. for over 40 years. She was an avid golfer and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Dick Aulabaugh of Madison, IL, Kathie and Ken Schrier of Shipman, IL, Tim and Valerie Aulabaugh of Edwardsville, IL and Jane Pollard of Wood River, IL; thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Bernie Roberts of Alton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Maurie Roberts.
In celebration of her life, a graveside service with Father Don Roberts officiating will be held at 11:00am at St Joseph's Cemetery. . Reception with the family will be held immediately following at the Aulabaugh family home on Rock Springs Drive in Alton.
Marilyn was cremated as per her wishes.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and the Catholic Children's Home in Alton.
