Charles Driver

Charles "Kelly" Driver, 56, passed away at 3:45am on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on August 31, 1952 in Carrollton, Illinois the son of Mabel Eileen (Lorton) Driver and the late Charles Edward "Shorty" Driver. He married the former Tracy Eaton on July 18, 2008 in Edwardsville and she survives. Besides his mother of Carrollton, Illinois and his wife, other survivors include one daughter: Katherine Driver and her companion Gary Carter of Hartford, two sons and a daughter in law: Charles Driver and his companion Jessica Brown of Granite City and Shane and Danielle Driver of Hartford, three step children: Nicholas McMillan and his companion Megan Partridge of Bethalto, Kacey Myers of Hartford, and Taylor Myers of Hartford, nine grandchildren: Caleb Driver, Chloe Driver, Haylee Driver, Elizabeth Driver, Wyatt Driver, Taylor Partridge, Joseph Carter, Alexis McMillian, and Race McMillian, and one brother: Ken Driver .

He was preceded in death by his father.

He was a strip anneal operator at Olin Corp. for 37 years prior to his retirement in September of 2008. He was a member of the Alton Eagles Aerie # 254 and the Machinist's Union # 660. He was also a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Carrollton.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. A Time of Remembrance service will be held at 11am on Friday, July 3, 2009 at the funeral home. Pastor Clyde Myers will officiate. Cremation rites will follow.
