Evelene Davis, age 87, passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2009 at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL
She was born in Somerset, KY. on April 9, 1922, the daughter of Millard & Helene (Brooks) Crouch.
Evelene married Oral E. Davis, on March 19, 1938 in Somerset, KY, he preceded her in death on November 27, 1988.
She was a homemaker all her life. She loved crocheting; quilting and sewing, and she also loved being with family and friends, and loved to fish.
Evelene attended the Church of God in Bethalto.
She is survived by three daughters Betty Wecker of East Alton, Patsy Caffery and husband James of Godfrey and, Sandra Piening and her friend Mark Piepenbrink of Alton, six grandchildren Sherry Fann, Rebecca Wille, James Caffery Jr., Chris Caffery, Bill Piening Jr., and Jeffrey Piening, fifteen great grandchildren, two sisters Pearl Turner of Granite City, Delta Sadler of Somerset, KY and one brother Melvin Crouch of Hewitt, TX.
Her parents, husband, one sister, two brothers and one great-grand daughter preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday May 26, 2009 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home, Bethalto, IL. Where funeral services will be conducted at 10 am Wednesday May 27, 2009 with the Pastor Tim Cambell officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Association.
