W. Faye “Miss Faye” Klingler

W. Faye “Miss Faye” Klingler, passed away and went to join her husband at 7:20am on Monday, May 4, 2015, at her residence.  She was born the daughter of the late Nathan Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Stanley) Meadows.  She married Vincent “Dutch” Klingler on October 20, 1952, at St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, Indiana, and after 55 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on January 30, 2008.  She is survived by one daughter: Dustine Klingler of East Alton, one son: Jimmy Klingler of Brighton, one grandson, and his wife: Timothy and Jami Brooks, one granddaughter, and her husband: Emily and Scott McGarvey, three great grandchildren: Emma Bagley, Nicole Klotz, David McGarvey, two sisters: Jetta Wildman, Nell Corley of Kentucky, many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends, and her cats: Abby and Ginger.

She attended Christian School in Kentucky, Beauty Fashion of Evansville, Indiana, and Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.  Faye was employed by May Company and later Kmart Corp. as a department manager.  She and her husband were the owners of Altec Manufacturing and Engineering until Vincent’s death.  Faye was a member of Holy Angels Parish in Wood River, where she was a member of the Altar Society.  She was a member of the Alton Marine Leathernecks.  Some of her happiest moments were spent helping others.  She had a unique way of touching the lives of people who knew her.  Faye loved to travel.  She and Vincent took many wonderful trips before his death.  She enjoyed time spent at her son’s farm, especially picking apples.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son: Robert W. Klingler.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.  In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.  Memorial services will be held at 11am on Friday, May 8, 2015, at the funeral home.  Father James Flach will officiate.  Inurnment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. 

Miss Faye requests no flowers or household plants.  She requests that memorials be given to the 5A’s or to Holy Angels Parish.
