Clayton Plummer

Clayton William "Bill" Plummer, 78, died unexpectedly 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 at his residence.He was born in Rosedale Township, Jersey County, IL., on April 27, 1936, and was the son of the late Emuel & Gladys (Suddeth) Plummer.Bill graduated in 1955 from Jersey Community High School, and served his country with the U.S. Army.He began employment in 1969 with Leonards Metals Inc. in St. Charles, Mo., and served as a Tool & Die Operator, retiring in 2001.He is survived by a brother & sister in law, Kenneth & Carolyn Plummer of Grafton; nieces & nephews, Sherri & Todd Sopher of Findlay, Ohio, Mark & Joan Haushalter of Bellefontaine, Ohio, David & Nikki Haushalter of Kenton, Ohio, and Katelyn & Robert Gray of Columbus Grove, Ohio; great nieces and nephews, Cassaundra Seeley & her fiance, Andrew Giles, JessicHaushalter, Alexa Haushalter, Alexandra Haushalter, Maxwell Haushalter, Scarlett Ann Gray, and Samuel Gray.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Vera (Haushalter) Plummer on Jan. 26, 2004; a brother, Leo EmuelPlummer, and a sister and brother in law, Ruth Ann & Frederick Haushalter.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.A Combined Visitation will be held for he and his sister, Ruth Ann Haushalter on Wednesday from 10 a.m, until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home.  Rev. Barbara Alley will officiate.Burial will be in the Fieldon Cemetery with the Jerseyville American Legion Post 492 conducting military graveside rites.Memorials may be given to the Rosedale United Methodist Church.
