Bob Moore, at the age of 92, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 26, 2015 at home with his family by his side.
Bob was born June 20, 1922 in Denmark, Tennessee to the union of the late Emmanuel and Ora Lee (McKinney) Moore.
He accepted Christ at an early age, and loved visiting the sick and elderly.
Mr. Moore was employed at Laclede Steel for 30 years retiring in 1982. He owned and operated a sanitation business and also had a barber shop in the back of his home. Bob had an affinity for: playing the lottery daily, socializing daily at the coffee shop, farming, gardening, hunting, and playing his harmonica and guitar.
In August of 1955, Mr. Moore married the former Ms. Tessie Woodard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a sister, Bessie Moore; and a brother, John Henry Moore.
Left to cherish fond memories: 10 children, Charles(Annie)Currie of St. Louis, Mo, John Henry(Barbara)Forest of Junction City, KS, Bertha Murphy of Jackson, TN, Bobbie Alexander of Atlanta, GA, Dennis (Foley) Moore, Glenn Moore, Rhonda Moore, Tina(Frank)Holliday, Pamela Cunningham, and Patricia (Anthony) Douglass, Sr.; 24 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; special friends: Frank Holiday, Kevin Koontz, and Bill Haines; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will convene Thursday, March 5 from 9 until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Deliverance Temple Complex. Interment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery. Dr. Gregory L. Harrison will officiate. Guest signatures and condolences are available: www.harrisonfuneralchapel.com.
