The public is invited to attend today's annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Alton VFW on Alby Street. Post 1308 will conduct a ceremony on the front of the property near the doughboy statue, which represents the end of World War One. Today's event begins at 10am with opening ceremonies, followed by a wreath laying ceremony, a fly-by from a B-25 Bomber, a guest speaker, and a rifle salute and playing of Taps.
The VFW's Dave Stout says the fly-by will be a first for the Alton VFW ceremony.

At 9:00am, there will be a presentation of colors, as well as a performance by the Kindergarten class, as well as other Veteran-themed program segments.
