The United Way's Southwest Illinois Division reports it has exceeded its local fund-raising goal of $1.86-million.  A number of agencies, companies, schools and unions pitched in to lift the final total to more than $1.87-million.  The Southwestern Illinois Division serves social service agencies and organizations throughout the River Bend and surrounding counties.

United Way spokesman Natasha Sakovich says the next order of business will be to divide the funding to the United Way-funded agencies.

Sakovich comments

She says every donor, no matter how large or small, is appreciated.  Olin Corporation and Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery were the top two campaigns again this year.
