First Night Riverbend will celebrate its 19th installment in a little more than two weeks, and big changes are coming to the alcohol and drug-free New Year's Eve celebration held each year at Lewis and Clark Community College. There will still be music, a magician, face painters, and fireworks, but the event will be held from 3-7pm and will be held entirely in Hatheway Hall.
First Night co-organizer Gail Drillinger says there will be one musical act this year.
Fireworks will end the evening beginning at 7pm, running about a half hour. That is in response to the younger families who have been attending in greater numbers in recent years, according to organizers.
