First Night Riverbend will celebrate its 19th installment in a little more than two weeks, and big changes are coming to the alcohol and drug-free New Year's Eve celebration held each year at Lewis and Clark Community College.  There will still be music, a magician, face painters, and fireworks, but the event will be held from 3-7pm and will be held entirely in Hatheway Hall.

First Night co-organizer Gail Drillinger says there will be one musical act this year.

Drillinger comments

Fireworks will end the evening beginning at 7pm, running about a half hour.  That is in response to the younger families who have been attending in greater numbers in recent years, according to organizers.  If you would like to volunteer, or buy tickets in advance, call 468-7500 or click on the link to the First Night website.
