Spring has officially started but that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy a good bowl of soup from local restaurants. The process of choosing which soup and which restaurant may get a litter easier for you this weekend, if you attend the Upper Alton Association's "Souper Saturday" event at the Alton Sports Tap.
From noon until 3 p.m. on April 6th, attendees will have the opportunity to eat a variety of soups from various Alton restaurants according to Upper Alton Association Steering committee chairperson Millie Hancock:
Hancock says that there will also be a cash bar available during the event. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door. When the event ends at 3 p.m. a "people's choice" award will be given to the soup that receives the most votes and the winning restaurant will get a $100 prize. The rest of the money from the event will be used to fund the organization's various projects and events in Upper Alton.
Serving the areas of Alton, Godfrey, East Alton, Wood River, Roxana, Edwardsville, Jerseyville, Brighton, Bethalto, Grafton, Granite City, Hartford, Highland, Troy, Fairview Heights, Belleville and the surrounding cities.
