An Alton mom and daughter are living in fear, since the man who raped his own daughter has disappeared from a halfway house. 40-year-old Frederick L. Buettner pled guilty to charges in 2004 to raping his young daughter, and was sentenced to ten years in prison. Last May, he was released to a halfway house in East St. Louis, but vanished a couple of months later.
The United States Marshal's Service has taken the lead in the hunt for Buettner, who sometimes answers to the name Eric. Marshal's Service Supervisor Tom Woods says they are still actively pursuing him.

Buettner has a tattoo of a white tiger head with blue eyes on one shoulder. If you have any information on where Buettner is hiding, you are urged to call your local police department, or dial 9-1-1.
