A former Collinsville man has been found guilty of murder in the deaths of a 19 year old woman and her 4 year old nephew almost ten years ago. 58 year old Kevin Reid was found guilty by a Madison County jury on Thursday of two counts of murder and a count of intentional homicide of a child. He could spend the rest of his life in prison.
Prosecutors call the jury’s decision a victory for justice in the deaths of 19 year old “Tweety” Parker and “C.J.” Toney, who were found at the bottom of cistern on Reid’s property in March 2008. Authorities say the victims were actually killed in November 2005 over a botched drug deal. Authorities say Reid stabbed the victims and threw their bodies in the cistern. He remains in custody and faces life in prison when he is sentenced later this spring.
