The alma mater of former president Ronald Reagan is marking the 10th anniversary of his death. Eureka College will hold a ceremony on June 5 to honor Reagan, which will include special music, a wreath-laying presentation, and a speech from Ann Lewis, president of the Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home and Visitors Center in Dixon. Eureka College President David Arnold says the college has a similar ceremony every year, but this time, they’re planning for a larger turnout.

“People are generally drawn to campus who have an interest in President Reagan,” Arnold said. “The 10th anniversary is one of those touchstone anniversaries, and so we’re expecting great, great interest, and a lot of a discussion in the media.” The event begins at 9 a.m. on June 5 at the Reagan Peace Garden. It is free and open to the public.
