Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn seldom misses a chance to highlight businesses that are adding jobs in Illinois. The latest is AT&T, which is adding 200 jobs at various locations, including Aurora, Buffalo Grove, Champaign, Chicago, Elgin, Libertyville, Northbrook and Springfield.
The governor made the announcement with Paul La Schiazza, president of AT&T Illinois. “The vast majority of these jobs are union jobs that offer good pay and benefits. They include retail staff members who serve customers in our retail stores, and technicians who install U-verse TV digital, high-speed internet and voice services,” La Schiazza said.

The retail staffers are represented by the Communication Workers of America, and the technicians are members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
La Schiazza said AT&T has spent $4 billion on wired and wireless networks in Illinois over the last four years, which the governor says helps everybody in Illinois.
