A power outage Thursday afternoon in Alton impacted more than 1-thousand customers for a few hours.  The initial outage took place after a problem with a main electrical feeder line at an Ameren substation at Liberty and 6th Street in Alton.  There were additional outages when power crews had to cut a circuit to make the needed repairs.

Ameren customers were impacted in the Middletown and downtown areas of Alton starting at around 2:15pm with most back on line by 5pm.
