Authorities in Wood River are asking for the public’s help in finding a man wanted in connection with an attempted home burglary last week, and the attempted entry of another residence.   Police have released a sketch of the suspect based on a witness description, and are asking the public to keep a lookout in the days ahead.

The suspect was confronted in the woman’s bedroom going through her jewelry and fled the scene through a back window in the 1100 block of Cedar around Noon on November 20th.  He is also suspected of attempting to get into a nearby home in the 100 block of Redbud on the same day but failed.  The area where he was last seen is just northeast of the Madison County Health Department building.  The suspect is described as a white male, short, medium build, short beard and mustache, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans.  If you have any information on the suspect, contact Wood River Police at 251-3114.
