Authorities are on the lookout for an Alton man who fled from police last week. The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged 38-year old Michael A. Mason of the 1910 block of Gross Street with multiple felony offenses. According to documents filed Friday in Madison County Circuit Court, Mason has been charged with aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and two counts of criminal damage to government supported property.
The charges allege Mason fled from Alton Police Officer Marcos Pulido in a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe after Pulido attempted to make a traffic stop on April 24th. During the alleged flight from police, Mason disobeyed two or more traffic control devices. He is also accused of knowingly causing damage to two Alton Police Department squad cars during the chase.
