In local police reports provided to the Big Z, East Alton Police this morning were holding 27 year old Jessica Smith of the 1000 block of West 9th in Alton on a failure to appear warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia.  40 year old John Hooks of the 1100 block of South Walnut in Springfield, held on a failure to appear warrant for criminal trespass to land. 

Wood River Police were holding 22 year old James Pritchard of the 500 block of North 1st in Wood River on a failure to appear warrant.

Roxana Police are investigating a traffic crash from Tuesday afternoon in which a truck hit a building that houses a daycare.  No one in the building was injured, but the driver was taken to Alton Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.  He is facing misdemeanor and possible felony charges, but has not yet been identified.  The crash at the Child’s Horizon Development Center on Central Avenue took place about 1:30pm.

There was a more serious accident in neighboring South Roxana that resulted in one person being airlifted from the scene.  The 18 year old male reportedly suffered a serious head injury in the crash near South Roxana Elementary School.  No other details about the crash have been released.

Alton Police investigated a home burglary sometime late Sunday or early Monday to a home in the 3300 block of Brown Street.
