Checking local police reports provided this morning to the Big Z, Wood River Police were holding 19-year old Cody A. Northcutt of the 100 block of East Lorane in Wood River for unlawful consumption by a minor.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office reports that two Alton women have been charged with felony retail theft under $300 following an incident at the Godfrey Wal-Mart on Wednesday. According to police records, 22-yead old Dorrisann M. Burke of the 630 block of East Fifth Street and 24-year old Jodi. S. Dwyer of the 3020 block of Fernwood Avenue were observed entering a restroom with merchandise. An employee noted they did not have the merchandise after leaving the restroom and notified law enforcement. A responding deputy located the merchandise in another bag before taking Burke and Dwyer into custody. They are each being held on a $20,000 bond.

The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed felony charges against an Alton man who allegedly battered a young relative earlier this month. 27-year old John S. Mosely of the 2610 block of Salu in Alton has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a child. The offenses are Class X and Class 3 felonies respectively. He is not in custody. Bond has been set at $100,000.
