Checking local police reports provided this morning to Z-1570, the Madison County Sheriff’s Department arrested two people on suspicion of retail theft. 35 year old Benjamin Eckhard and 31 year old Angela Ebner both of the 1200 block of Hazel Drive in Alton were arrested on Tuesday at the Wal-Mart in Godfrey after store officials claimed they were attempting to leave the store without paying for a television and a soda. Store officials told police the couple had been in the store on Monday when the female suspect purchased a vacuum and the male suspect later walked out of the store without paying for a vacuum. The two were transported to the Madison County Jail.
East Alton Police arrested 47 year old Tracy Mundy who had no known address, on an outstanding warrant from Alton Police for failure to appear criminal trespass. He was transported to the Alton jail.
