In local police activity, the Madison County Sheriff's Department reports a burglary at a home on Sunday in rural Madison County near Alhambra.  The homeowner in the 10-thousand block of Fruit Road reported coming home just after Noon on Sunday and finding a suspect inside the residence burglarizing the home.  The homeowner confronted the man who then fled on foot to a car described as a green or grey older model four door that headed west on Fruit Road.   Later on Sunday afternoon, a resident in the 5100 block of Daunderman Road in Alhambra reported a man entered their home around Noon Sunday after knocking on the front and back doors.  The homeowner confronted the subject who said he was looking for work, and then left the residence.  In both cases, the suspect is described as 50 year old black male, medium height and build, wearing a red flannel shirt or jacket and blue jeans.  Police want to speak with anyone in the Alhambra area that may have encountered someone going door to door, looking for money, directions or work.  The Sheriff's Department can be reached at 692-4433.

Alton Police arrested two men over the weekend who were allegedly using a stolen credit card at the Argosy Casino.  25 year old Johuan Ramos and 29 year old Juan Barrome, both of New York City, New York, are charged with identity theft and are being held in lieu of $80-thousand bond.
