A trio of local lawmakers are making sure that children in, and around their districts have a safe place to play this summer. State senators Sam McCann (R-Carlinville), Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill), and State Representative Wayne Rosenthal (R-Litchfield) have secured $55,000 in state investment funds that have been used to purchase and install new playground equipment at Beaver Dam State Park.
The new playground will be built near the the trailer camping area at the park, which Manar says addresses the concerns several area residents. He believes the new area will provide a safe and more accessible recreation area for those who frequently visit the park.
