New contracts don’t always translate into savings for school districts, especially during tough financial times such as these. However, a number of contracts approved last night by the Bethalto School District will translate into substantial savings according to district officials. School board members approved a total of five contracts last night that will cover printing, copying, and internet services for the district.

Director of Technology Jay Stemley says he put together an extensive look at how the district did it’s printing and copying before making any recommendation to the board.

Board members approved a five-year copier lease with Xerox and two contracts for printing services with Da-Com that will save the district an estimated $33,000 each year according to Stemley.  The board also approved two contracts that set E-rates, or the charges for internet services for schools and facilities within the district.
