The 46th annual NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet will be held in a little less than a month at the Alton Holiday Inn, as honorees and guests will come together for what is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Alton branch of the organization.  On May 3 at 6pm, the organization will be raising funds to support its year-round programs such as "Back To School / Stay In School," "C" Average Scholarships, and Christmas Shopping.

This banquet and donations from individuals, businesses and organizations throughout the year make those programs possible.  President James Gray says this year's theme is "The Cost of Freedom."
