A suspect in a Madison County murder who escaped custody while being transported back from Las Vegas has been recaptured. 37-year-old Turhan Robinson of St. Louis waived extradition back to Illinois, and escaped from a transport vehicle just after 2:00am Friday at a truck stop in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He was returned to custody Friday afternoon.
Robinson has family, friends and associates in Alton and East St. Louis. The transport was being handled by a private firm. Robinson and 30-year-old Terrence Lee are accused of shooting 43-year-old Kenneth Deal while trying to steal marijuana from him last month.
