Voters are getting a chance to weigh in on the minimum wage issue. Illinois Governor Pat Quinn approved a ballot measure yesterday, which will ask voters if people in Illinois should be paid at least ten-bucks-an hour. It's just an advisory question though, so lawmakers won't be obligated to raise the wage, even if that's what most people want.
That's one reason Republicans don't like the ballot measure. They say it's a way for Democrats to draw more people to the polls, hoping to boost their own support.
