A man, who pleaded guilty to a 2012 home invasion, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.  35-year-old Ricky Andrews entered the plea in exchange for an attempted murder charge     being dropped.  Andrews, and another man, attacked the victim inside the victim’s apartment.

The victim was severely beaten with a hammer and metal flat bar following an apparently dispute with the suspects.  The victim was left paralyzed by the attack and still suffers from a diminished mental capacity.   Andrews must serve at least 85-percent of his sentence due to the nature of the injuries.  Also charged in the crime was 49 year old Robert Kelly, who also pleaded guilty to home invasion and was sentenced to 10 years in jail.
