A 35-year-old Jerseyville man is charged with Aggravated Battery and Armed Robbery after a Saturday morning incident in Godfrey. Police say Joshua H. Davis of the 20,000 block of Highway 109 entered the Mehlville Dairy on West Delmar Avenue in Godfrey just after 8:30am, announced a hold up, threw a 61-year-old woman to the ground, and sped off to Missouri, where he was caught.
Madison County Sheriff Bob Hertz says the 61-year-old was not injured in the incident.

A number of customers in the store chased after Davis as he got away, but Hertz says it was their information that led police to Davis, who was captured a little later in Bellfontaine Neighbors, Missouri. He is being held on a quarter-million dollar bond.
