Nearly 150-thousand Illinois teachers are preparing to pay more out of their own pockets for supplies in their classrooms.  A 250-dollar federal tax deduction will no longer be available to educators starting next year.  Some teachers estimate that they spend over one-thousand dollars a year on supplies for their students, and area craft and supply stores are anticipating a drop in business. The New America Foundation estimates the cost of the deduction was 170-million dollars nationally last year.
