Five fishing and boating sites around the state have been voted among the best in the country for families. The top 100 list of family fishing and boating spots was put together by the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation based on online polls.
To Dan Stephenson, assistant chief of fisheries with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, having five fishing spots on the list shows the state’s strength when it comes to water recreation.
