Heroin related overdose deaths in Madison County continue to climb, and the numbers are continuing to stay as high as in previous years.  The public health epidemic is now the subject of a movie that will debut this weekend in Edwardsville.  “The Heroin Project: A Documentary” will be shown in the Abbott Auditorium at SIUE on Sunday from 2-4pm.

Ashley Seering helped produce and direct the film.  She tells The Big Z she was inspired to produce a full-length documentary while filming the meetings of the Madison County Heroin Task Force.

The movie screening is free and open to the public, and seating will be on a first come, first serve basis.  The auditorium seats about 140 people.
