Members from various groups in Alton who share an in interest in improving the quality of life in the Alton area will meet tomorrow at Wellspring Resources. The primary focus of Tuesday’s gathering will be to discuss progress of the “Greater Alton United” initiative. Greater Alton United evolved from a “Weed and Seed” strategy and organizers say they are now focused on creating “seeding” acitivies to empower residents and educate them on how to get involved in improving life in their community through creating jobs, eliminating sub-standard housing and stabilizing families.
To that end, organizers are inviting anyone with an interest in improving the Alton area to tomorrow’s meeting, which will include a roundtable discussion about several topics including: Youth and Education, Environment and Sustainability, Beautification, and Economic and Community Development. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at Wellspring Resources, located at 2615 Edwards Street.
