More than 200 military and veteran themed books and videos are now available in the Reid Memorial Library at Lewis and Clark Community College. It all due to the recently awarded “Back to Books” grant, which the library received last fall. It’s part of an ongoing effort to help current and former members of the armed forces transition back into civilian life.
The college was awarded $5,000, which was used to purchase books, which cover all aspects of a veteran’s life and are available to district residents with a library card. Assistant Director of Reference Services Gregory Cash:

The purchases made under this grant will address many issues important to veterans including finances, mental and physical health, military and political history, careers and education, military sexual trauma, homelessness, and more.
Serving the areas of Alton, Godfrey, East Alton, Wood River, Roxana, Edwardsville, Jerseyville, Brighton, Bethalto, Grafton, Granite City, Hartford, Highland, Troy, Fairview Heights, Belleville and the surrounding cities.
