In Grafton, the economy can often be tied to the rise and fall of the Mississippi River. While some of the town was hard to get to this spring, most of the town stayed accessible. There are a number of businesses that cater to tourists, and Mayor Tom Thompson is pleased to see continued growth for those enterprises.
One of those businesses will be celebrating a milestone in 2014.
He says the zip-line has really taken off, with visitors coming in from several states. Thompson says the re-opening of the Grafton Ferry helped bring in more traffic from Missouri, and is looking forward to its return to service in the spring.
