Grafton Mayor Tom Thompson (left) talks about flooding concerns with U.S. Congressman Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville)There will be fireworks in Grafton tonight.  Fireworks in the river town have been cancelled before due to high water, but there is no plan to do so this time.  The crest is not expected until next Thursday at 25.4 feet, and this weekend the Mississippi is expected to stay at 23 feet or below.

Grafton Mayor Tom Thompson says the river will provide a spectacular backdrop.

As for local business, Thompson says all are currently open.  He suspects with the current forecast all will remain open, with the possible exception of the Hawg Pit on the west end of town.  Water begins to come into the building with a river level of 25.4 feet.  Thompson says you may see a few detours, but most of the town will be accessible, including Raging Rivers.
