Free legal help is something many people need in these tough economic times, and the Third Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee is offering that help to veterans in a pair of events next week. On Tuesday, free 30-minute appointments will be offered at the Madison County Law Library in the basement of the courthouse in Edwardsville. Appointments will be held Wednesday at the SWIC Granite City Campus.
To make an appointment for either Tuesday or Wednesday, call 296-4472. Judge Barb Crowder, Chair of the Third Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee, says there will also be two legal workshops held on Wednesday at SWIC.
The workshops will be held from 10:30am-11am about civil cases including what they are, pro bono services and what to expect in court. A workshop on family law will be held from 11am-11:30. Those workshops are free and open to the public.
