Following a rash of floods in 2013, a local lawmaker is stepping up to make sure that you are prepared in case the Riverbend sees more flooding this summer. State Senator Sam McCann (R-Carlinville) will host a free informational flood preparedness seminar on April 28th. The event will feature speeches by representatives from several organizations including the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.
McCann says it will be a great opportunity to reflect on last year's experiences and learn how to improve moving forward.
